Alone, with a group or with your family, the mountains always offer enjoyable activities: in winter, skiing is always a renewed pleasure. Whether through the sensations of alpine skiing of the more intense effort of Nordic skiing, fresh air and sunshine are present!
You can follow the circuits across the Pays des Écrins, thanks to the walking and snowshoeing trails. In Puy Saint Vincent and Pelvoux-Vallouise, you can reach them by using the lifts.
If you don’t like sports activities or just want to have a break, bring your sunglasses and high protection sun cream and settle at a table, on a terrace and enjoy the present moment!
Bring your grandchildren!
Enjoy the delights of an afternoon snack in a restaurant, tea shop, creperie or the Maison du Miel (honey) and discover local produce at the Maison Artisanale de la Vallouise or in the village souvenir shops.
After a day on the slopes, the Igloo-Pelvoo has surprises in store including the escape game, daily activities and visits.
And why not head to Ailefroide or the Pré de Madame Carle and stop off to see Mr Buisson and his wife at the Pas de La Rosse? They’ll greet you all year round and share your enthusiasm of talking about the mountains and Ailefroide. An extremely pleasant yet rare meeting.
A myriad of summer activities and entertainment!
There is a wide range of activities to discover nature on foot or by bike. There are circuits for all levels and the beauty of the landscapes is always astonishing! Easy yet extraordinary hikes lead to the Pré de Madame Carle, the Deslioures Reserve and the Col de la Pousterle.
You can visit local heritage: The Silver Mine Museum, the Hydroelectricity Museum and visits to religious heritage (organised by a guide). These visits pay tribute to our past! However, the villages also tell their story through the architecture, the sundials and their location: Dormillouse, Vallouise, L’Argentière… Did you know? A geologist from the Geology and Geopark Centre told me that the rocks and landscapes here tell the history of the world. In summer, field trips are organised to see what the rocks have to say!
The village fêtes, festivals and entertainment guarantee a range of summer festivities and musical styles: from baking tourtes aux pommes de terre (potato pie) in the communal ovens, to the ‘Musiques en Écrins’ concert, or the restaurants and snack bar terraces where dancers spin between two plates of mussels and chips! There’s always something going on: not a single night without some kind of entertainment!
