The Pays des Ecrins wanted to make these dreams true by proposing you a journey around the Pays des Ecrins in 6 days!

This loop starting from L’Argentière-la-Bessée crosses all the villages and hamlets in the valley of the Vallouise valley, until the singular hamlet of Ailefroide, then comes back by the valleys of Fournel and Freissinières. Passing successively under the Montbrison, Condamine, la Blanche, Pelvoux, l’Aiglière, Pendine, Dormillouse and finally l’Aiguillas, you will have the occasion to face these rock and ice giants, which make the splendour of the Ecrins mountain chain.

From col to torrent, passing by an architectural wonder of the Hautes-Alpes, the Journey around the Pays des Ecrins invites you to meet everything that makes the authenticity of a mountain valley. Each constructed place shelters a sundial, testimony of the patrimonial wealth of the architecture in the Hautes-Alpes. Each ancient building tells the rural past of many of the high mountain societies. This route is also the occasion for you to discover the different social and economic evolutions of this places, all specifically characterized.
