THE ÉCRINS NATIONAL PARK
DISCOVER IT SNOWSHOEING…
The Écrins National Park is one of ten National Parks in France that also include la Vanoise, Port-Cros, les Pyrénées, les Cévennes, le Mercantour, la Guadeloupe, la Réunion, la Guyane and Les Calanques.
La Vallouise and the Pays des Écrins are on the edge of the Park and are therefore ideal places to find accommodation so you can discover the Park.
In winter, it is mainly Ailefroide that is to be discovered. It is a magical place where silence reigns and the scenery is beautiful. We advise you to enlist the services of a mountain guide (Christophe Lebreton or Sami, Laurent Baptiste, Jean Michel Neveu or David Casa Montana) or the Bureau des Guides to discover the wealth of fauna and flora in the Écrins in safe conditions.
DISCOVER IT INDOORS…
The Vallouise Écrins National Park Centre is located in the Vallouise plain.
There are seven Écrins National Park Centres. These centres are used both as a base by the field teams in the sector, and as a reception and preparation area to discover the protected zone and its heritage.
The new Park Centre opened in Vallouise on 1st June and visitors can view a permanent exhibition to discover the territory and its heritage. There is also a temporary exhibition area upstairs and an audiovisual room (screenings and conferences). Free entrance.
HOW TO GET TO LA VALLOUISE

The villages of Vallouise, Pelvoux and les Vigneaux are part of la Vallouise in the Pays des Écrins at the gateway to the Écrins National Park.
We are in the Hautes-Alpes, one of the sunniest areas in France. Fresh snow, sun and a good mood are to be expected in La Vallouise!
