From one mountain refuge to another

During your treks in the mountains, you might stop off in one of the Pays des Écrins’ mountain refuges

Refuges, the place to sleep...

In order to set off on a beautiful climb the next day.

A night in a mountain refuge, comfort after effort.

For some, reaching the refuge is the aim of the outing, the end of the trail, but for others it is merely a stage before going further and higher, towards new horizons and summits. It is then a meeting place for walkers and mountaineers who come to eat and sleep, but also to share their experience of the mountains and their discoveries.

The altitude refuges and the gîte-refuges are manned in the summer and you will find board and lodging there. The warden is happy to have you, in return, don’t forget the small gestures and basic manners that will make your stay more pleasant and friendly (please respect times, take off your shoes, pack away your bedding, respect others’ rest, take your rubbish with you, etc. And why not lend a helping hand with the washing up or cleaning? Outside manned periods, a room is available.

Don’t forget to book your meal and bed.
