In addition to white-water courses, the CRFCK now offers many multidisciplinary courses for training in mountain-related jobs.
The Regional Canoe-Kayak Training Centre (CRFCK)
The CRFCK was created at the initiative of three personalities in white-water activities.
Jacques Arnaud (President of the French Canoe-Kayak Federation’s regional committee), Jean-Louis Orly (Regional Technical Advisor, World Champion and Olympic gold medal winner) and Didier Lafay (Director of the Regional School). They wanted to communicate their passion and meet one of the region’s needs: train professionals to supervise new sports and tourist activities linked to white-water sports. After the white-water stadium was created in 1993, it seemed obvious to create the CRFCK. The training centre therefore came to be in 1996, in L’Argentière-la-Bessée. Since then, close collaboration with the municipality has led to developing facilities that are unique in France. Located in the centre of the most prestigious site for white-water sports in Europe, the CRFCK rapidly became the main training centre for white-water sports in France.
Today, the CRFCK is a true economic and social player in the PACA region. To further enhance its training courses, it offers multidisciplinary courses that lead to both summer and winter jobs.
In addition to training, the CRFCK prides itself in organising safety days for white-water professionals each year. It is also appreciated by rescue professionals completing their hazardous environment training.
